Sam Richert

Sam Richert is a documentary filmmaker, writer and historian dedicated to recording creative resistance and wild beauty. She has been documenting Seattle communities of gender exploration since 2003 through oral and video interviews. Love Letter, her documentary about the Queen Bees performance troupe, played last fall at the Seattle Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and as part of the Local Sightings series at the Northwest Film Forum. She is also a painter, exploring color and form through murals, collage, and portraits.
