Debbie Carlsen is a new filmaker working on her first film. She is a passionate artist and a political organizer who continuously explores new ways to combine art and politics. She identifies as a corpulent queer femme, ex-catholic, working-class, 36 year old white chick. Debbie has partook in a hodgepodge of things such as founding a queer feminist magazine called Push, teaching English as a Second Language, organizing a legislative campaign for LGBT rights, dancing and stripping for the revolution as a drag artist, and documenting femme history as a filmmaker.
As the director, producer and co-editor of "The F Word: Femmes, Femininity and a New Feminism", Debbie plans on distributing this film nationally and internationally, sharing the work of an extraordinary group of people, while educating the masses. She also plans to continue making films that represent queer, subversive, progressive, anti-oppressive values.
